3 Tips for Achieving and Keeping Clear Skin

Exfoliate Regularly

Start with a freshly cleansed face and use a warm, moist towel on your face for a few minutes to help open your pores and make it easier to remove impurities.

There is no set recipe for the bentonite clay mask. Start with a tablespoon of bentonite clay and add teaspoons of ACV until you reach a spreadable consistency. Apply the mask to your face and allow it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the mask is mostly dry to the touch. The mask can make your face feel tight or dry, so after rinsing off the mask, follow up with your favorite moisturizer. If you find a bentonite clay mask is too drying for your skin, you may only want to apply it to oily areas.

Consider Peels

Monthly chemical peels can often do more for improving your skin than you can achieve with regular exfoliation. Some common chemicals used for peels include, lactic, glycolic and salicylic acid. Although these chemicals can be readily purchased online, do not become tempted to perform chemical peels yourself. If you want to try a light version of a peel at home, use retail products containing milk or fruit enzymes, which can aid in exfoliation. Consult a dermatologist or aesthetician for a genuine chemical peel to lower your risk of burns and infection from treatments.
